Yemen: High-Level Workshop to Activate the "Triple Nexus" for Human Security and Development

​The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in collaboration with the Yemeni Ministry of Planning and international partners, organized a specialized workshop aimed at establishing the "Triple Nexus" approach in Yemen. This strategic framework links three vital pillars: Humanitarian Action, Development, and Peacebuilding.

​Key Objectives:

​Integrated Efforts: Activating governance mechanisms that link national operations with urgent humanitarian needs.

​Risk Analysis: Developing a comprehensive human security framework based on an analysis of risks, vulnerabilities, and local capacities.

​Sustainability: Ensuring alignment between international programming, Yemen’s national development strategies, and resilience-building goals.

​Participants and Partners:

​The workshop brought together government officials from various Yemeni ministries and institutions, with organizational support from:

​The United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS).

​The United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC).

​The League of Arab States.

​The Ultimate Goal: To transition from solely providing emergency aid to fostering sustainable development and lasting peace through unified institutional coordination.
